 Meet the Team

The 'Our Bute Memories' Campaign is a project spearheaded by five students of the MA International Public Relations and Global Communications Management course at Cardiff University's School of Journalism, Media and Culture. It is the first campaign of its kind - curated, led and fuelled solely by students on behalf of the School; as part of their studies in Digital Communications Management.

Andrea Valeria Duarte de Souza (Brazil)

Very few people cross carpets from a highly technical field: Engineering, to the Communications industry. After many years of breaking the glass ceiling and accomplishing her goals working for one of the world’s largest oil companies, Andrea is looking to cure one of the huge problems within engineering management - ‘communications’, from the training she receives from our School.

Lewis Williams (Wales)

Lewis grew up just along the South Wales coast in Barry. Yet, the small size of the town has not prevented him from his knack to explore the world and turning him into a polyglot. He now speaks French and Spanish and can get away with a few Welsh words. His global ambition and outlook propelled him to study for his MA in International Public Relations and Global Communications Management -  and is hoping to pump the same passion into this campaign.

Jasnoor Saroya (India)

Jasnoor is madly in love with badminton. She was in the medical school on her way to becoming a medical doctor but now is an economist. While she was crunching the numbers in her economic class, her heart strayed into the communications field with her starting an online newspaper called U-Mirror at the Panjab University (India) and is still being run by students in three different states. As a go-getter, her quest for more knowledge has landed her in Cardiff, studying International PR and Global Communications Management.

Chen Zheng (China)

Born and raised in Shanghai, Chen was only used to the sounds and buzz of big cities and subtly lost her oomph for painting. She says the serenity of Cardiff and closeness to nature has stirred up her passion for painting again. With experience in working in a PR firm in China, Chen was inspired to take a course in international PR and landed in Cardiff.

Nana Boakye Yiadom (Ghana)

Nana was sure he was going to be the next football star from Ghana, but fate made him a sports journalist instead. He later became a business news journalist and rose to become Deputy Director of News Programming at his media organisation, Citi FM. He is passionate about communication and fascinated by the digital media space.
